Gayane’s

Gayane Breiova, the owner of the café Na Lesnitse, opened a restaurant of home Caucasian cuisine named Gayane’s. The place is decorated with hand-made ethnic carpets and pictures of Armenian painter Andranik Sargsyan.

There are some uncommon dishes on the menu, like avelyuk (yellow dock with fried onion, garlic, walnuts and greens) or kamats matsun (cultured milk product cooked in a secret Armenian way). There are also some tandoor dishes, including bread and scones, grilled dishes and some old family recipes from Gayane, like “Grandma Afiyan’s khashlama” or “Mother’s dolma in vine leaves”. Some ingredients are brought from Caucases – juicy tomatoes, home-made cheeses, spices, greens and Armenian mountain trout.
