New restaurants
New restaurant Vatrushka occupies the XVIII century manor house of Count Orlov on Bolshaya Nikitskaya street. The interior is luxurious, with cut-glass chandeliers and velvet couches, but the food here is much more important. The chef is Dmitriy Shurshakov, well-known for the restaurants Mechta and Chayka (the latter got in the famous S.Pellegrino Top 100 twice). Shurshakov created a very interesting menu on basis of simple and easy accessible local food. In Vatrushka one can try cauliflower crème brullee with a poached egg and Hollandaise sauce, codfish from Murmansk with mashed potatoes and sprats sauce or a salad with warm barley groats and chicken hearts. From 8 a.m. till midnight they serve breakfasts: toasts, porridge, cheese cakes and different dishes from farm eggs.
